Aaron Cunningham has been designated for assignment to make room for Brent Lillibridge on the 25-man Major League roster. Lillibridge is wearing #1 and has reported to Progressive Field.
Are we surprised by this move? No, we are not.

ECarrera in Cbus would have worked just fine as the 4th OF. We give up nothing and get someone that has ML experience. He has been tearing it up in Cbus lately, can play all 3 OF positions, has good speed for pinch running situations, and led off today’s game vs Toledo with a dinger.
The 2011 version of Lillibridge was not bad: .258, 13 HRs in only 186 ABs. Prior to this year he’s a career .277 hitter against LHP. He can also play the infield so more versatility. Worth a low cost gamble.
We saw Carrera last season. Speed, poor defense, little else.
