The Indians are out of town this weekend (as they are for much of June). Perhaps you’re planning to take in a minor league game to fill the baseball void, but I have another suggestion – join us for our local SABR (Society for American Baseball Research) meeting in downtown Cleveland on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
We’re holding the meeting at the Baseball Heritage Museum, 530 Euclid Ave. in the Colonial Arcade that runs between Euclid and Prospect. The museum is a really neat place if you’ve never had the opportunity to visit. The plans for tomorrow are to talk baseball, have a trivia contest and a small raffle, and also listen to a presentation on the media and sports. For an admission fee, we’re just asking that you make a donation of your choice to the museum…you’ll get some free pop as well.
It’s a great way to get out of the hot sun for a few hours, and talk baseball on a day when the Tribe is out of town. Plus you’ll get a chance to tour the museum, which is worth the trip if you haven’t seen it.
Hope to see you there!
