For those of you in the Cleveland area, there are several baseball-related events taking place in the near future that may be of interest.

On Saturday, September 24, the Baseball Heritage Museum in downtown Cleveland will have an open house and book signing with a number of authors (myself included) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Try to stop by if you can, particularly if you’re heading downtown for the game that evening.  Here’s a full listing of the authors and events.

The one local vintage base ball club, the Cleveland Blues, will be hosting a golf outing fundraiser at Bob ‘O Links Golf Course in Avon, Ohio on Saturday, October 1.  For more information, be sure to check out their web site.

I believe I’ve mentioned that I’m the local chapter president for SABR (Society for American Baseball Research).  We’re having our annual fall meeting at the Brooklyn Public Library on Ridge Road in Brooklyn on Saturday, October 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a break for lunch.  I hope to have the full schedule finalized soon, but there will be a mix of presentations and discussion about the Indians’ season, plus a book raffle and a trivia contest.  You don’t have to be a member to join us; it’s a $2 admission fee, but that gets you free pop and candy.  You also don’t have to come for the entire day; feel free to stop in for just part of the meeting.  I’ll make sure to share the final schedule so you can see if there’s a topic that interests you.
